Meaghan, Erin, Jordan, and Maddie Break National Record! This weekend at the 2010 Sectional Championships, Meaghan Connolly, Erin Yeager, Jordan Hancock, and Maddie Locus broke the 15-16 girls 800 Free Relay NATIONAL Record! The girls swam to a 7:20.06, breaking the previous record of 7:21.64. Congratulations on your hard work day in and day out! What a terrific accomplishment! FCST takes 1st place at 13 & Over Champs and 12 & Under Champs! Congratulations to all FCST swimmers for a job well done at their Spring Championship meets.  Our 13 & Over swimmers had their championship meet on Febraury 19th - 21st at The Woodlands while our 12 & Under swimmers had their championship meet the following weekend on February 26th - 28th. 

Overall, FCST swam to 866 best times of which included: 1 New Winter Junior Cut, 4 New Spring Junior Cuts, 9 New Sectional Cuts, 48 New TAGS Cuts, 77 New GULF Cuts, 1 New National TOP 10 Time, 12 New "AAAA" Times, 34 New "AAA" Times, 44 New "AA" Times, 64 New "A" Times, 57 New "BB" Times, and 30 New "B" Times.  We also had 1 Team Record broken by Simone Manuel in the Girls 13-14 100 Back with a time of 58.39.  Way to go FCST!

Simone Manuel Earns Spot in USA Swimming's Southern Zone Select Camp!
Congratulations to Simone Manuel, who was recently named to the 2010 USA Swimming Southern Zone Select Camp! The Zone Select Camp is the second level of USA Swimming camps, and seeks to identify emerging talent within each of the four USA Swimming Zones. Simone was chosen based off her IMX score from last summer, and she will attend the camp in late May.

FCST has a strong tradition at the Zone Select Camp level, with swimmers making the camp for the last four years in a row. FCST also has three coaches who have been either the head or an assistant coach for the Zone Select Camp. Congratulations to Simone for keeping this strong tradition going!

FCST Masters hosted a meet on Saturday, Feb. 20 - "There's A First Time For Everything!"   Congratulations to all of our adult swimmers that participated.  "First Timers" included Kristine Harper, Jodi Muschel, Amy Jones, Steve Russell, and Karen Thorton.  A special congratulations goes to FCST swimmers achieving National Cuts - Amy Jones (50/100 Breast), Debbie Madden (50 Breast), Lori Miller (50/100 Free & 50 Fly), Steve Long (50 Free, 50 Fly), and Mike Engelking (50/100 Free)!  Results, click HERE.

FCST Takes 2nd Place at Mardi Gras Invitational
Congratulations to all FCST swimmers who traveled to Baton Rouge, LA for the Mardi Gras Invitational at LSU.  Overall we had 345 best times of which include: 1 New Sectional Time, 11 New TAGS Times, 20 New GULF Times, 6 New AAAA Times, 7 New AAA Times, 20 New AA Times, 19 New A Times, 19 New BB Times, and 11 New B Times. Way to go FCST!

A special congratulations goes out to Kaitlyn Swinney for breaking for the Girls 13-14 400 IM record with a time of 4:30.84.  Simone Manuel also broke the same record with a time of 4:31.29.  For complete recap, clickHERE.

Congratulations to all FCST Swimmers who competed in the TWST Senior Meet, SPA Elite Meet, HCAP Junior Meet, and TWST 8 & Under Meet this past weekend.  Results for each meet are below.

TWST Senior Meet: The Senior Meet was another great meet for our Senior swimmers!  Overall we had 118 best times!  These best times included: 2 New Spring Junior Cuts, 10 New Sectional Cuts, 1 New Top 10 Time, 3 New AAAA times, 6 New AAA times, 12 New AA times, and 12 new A times.  Way to go guys!

A special congratulations goes out to Simone Manuel for achieving a National Top 10 time in the 200IM for 13 year olds girls. Her time of 2:07.63 was also a Spring Junior Cut.  Also, congratulations to Maddie Locus for achieving a Spring Junior Cut in the 500 free with a time of 4:56.25.  Way to go girls! SPA Elite Meet: The Elite Meet was a huge success for our FCST Swimmers. Overall we had 305 best times!  These best times included: 1 new Team Record (Madi Lacy 11-12 Girls 1650 FR), 27 New TAGS cuts, 38 New GULF cuts, 1 New AAAA time, 26 New AAA times, 27 New AA times, and 55 New A times.  Way to go FCST! HCAP Junior Meet: The HCAP Meet proved to be another fantastic meet for the FCST Swimmers.  Overall we had 578 best times!  These best times include: 13 New GULF Times, 5 New A Times, 63 New BB Times, and 71 New B Times.  Way to go FCST! For full meet recap, click HERE.

TWST 8 & Under Meet: The TWST 8 & Under Meet was filled with many great swims!  Overall we had 85 best times!  These best times included: 1 New A time, 2 New BB times, and 2 New B times.  Way to go 8 & Unders! For full meet recap, click HERE.

FCST places 19 swimmers in National TOP 10 List: USA Swimming’s annual TOP 10 list includes 19 FCST swimmers for the 2008-2009 year! These swimmers represent FCST in 7 relays and 30 individual swims.  Finishing first in the country was Simone Manuel in the 12 year old girls LCM 50 free with a time of 27.10 and in the LCM 100 free with a time of 58.42.  Adding to our first place national rankings were two of our 11-12 girls SCY relays.  The 200 Free Relay of Simone Manuel, Kaitlyn Swinney, Elizabeth Davis, and Madison Varisco finished with a blazing time of 1:41.22 and the 400 Free Relay of Simone Manuel, Kaitlyn Swinney, Asia Quentin, and Madison Varisco topped the charts with a time of 3:44.66.  Way to go ladies!
