Volunteers Needed at Sugar Land Tri
Come on out and help our Finish Line Sports Sponsor by volunteering at the 2010 Sugar Land Tri. The race is June 27 at the Aquatic Center. We need 10-12 volunteers and 3-4 lifeguards. We will be helping with the swim portion of the event and need to arrive at the pool by 6:00 am. The race starts at 7:00 am and you will be finished by 8:30 am.
Freedom 5K Fun Run Volunteer Opportunity
Each year First Colony organizes the July 4th Freedom 5K. Because they support FCST in so many ways, we try each year to return the gesture by providing some volunteer support for this event. Volunteers are needed from 5:30 am until roughly 8:00 am. If you are available and willing to donate a little time to helping us maintain a positive relationship with this organization, please contact me, Susan Banks, at banks4@comcast.net. Teenage volunteers are welcomed and this would definitely count toward YES and honor society volunteer requirements.
FCST Committees
We are still looking for members to help out and give their input for these committees. The committees and their descriptions are below. If you are interested in being involved and getting to know more about how FCST operates, please contact Teresa at yeagerfamily85@comcast.net.
1. Equipment Fund This committee will organize and oversee fundraising activities pertaining to the purchase of needed equipment items. This will include, but is not limited to the operation of the Scrip program and any other activities the committee wishes to promote. Chairperson: Bonnie Finnigan, Board Rep: Teresa Yeager
2. Special Events This committee shall be responsible for planning and operating all team events such as team picnic, banquet, team days, etc. All dates should be coordinated with the Head Coach. Board Rep. John Swinney
3. Equipment and Facilities This committee shall be responsible for repairing and transporting of team equipment to different facilities as needed. Committee will be directed by the staff regarding all necessary work.
4. Parental Service Under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator, this committee will seek to fill all needed parental service positions for FCST hosted meets (including Friday Night at the Races). The committee shall also assist in recruiting volunteers to become officials, safety marshals and meet directors.
