Nothing has a greater influence on the quality of children's sports than the excellence of the coach. The First Colony Swim Team staff consists of several professionally trained full- and part-time coaches. Being members of the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA), they have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They possess training and experience in many areas including the physiology and psychology of adolescent development.
In order to progress through the 5 levels available to coaches, intensive course work, tests, the number of coaching years in the competitive sport and the level of achievement that their athletes attain are considered. Of all registered coaches with ASCA only approximately 3% are a level 5 coach., 7% are level 4, 15% are a level 3, 45% are a level 2, and 30% are a level 1. The professionalism and credientials of our coaching staff assures you that the time your children spend in swimming will be quality time.
