Returning FCST Swimmers
From Summer League
Welcome Back! The coaching staff would like to invite all the FCST summer league swimmers back to FCST practice starting July 22nd. We ask that swimmers come back and swim with the group they were assigned to before departing to their summer league teams. If you have any questions, please contact the primary coach for the group you will be rejoining.

FCST Swimmer Heads to Olympic Trials |
|
|
 FCST Swimmer Competes in US Olympic Trials!
15-year-old Eegan Groome will be heading to Omaha to compete in one of the world's fastest meets, the US Olympic Trials. Eegan qualified for the mile, and is one of two 15-yr-olds competing in the mile at Trials. Also competing in the mile will be Erik Vendt, American record holder, and Larsen Jensen, the 2004 silver medal winner in the mile.

 Travel Trip Update: Thirty FCST swimmers boarded a plane and flew to Phoenix, Arizona for the 2008 Summer Travel Trip. FCST swimmers had an outstanding meet, with several new team records, and plenty of new Junior National, Sectional, TAGS, and Gulf cuts. Full meet results can be found here.
The following new team records were set: Jordan Hancock- 100 fly (1:04.97) and 200 fly (2:20.30); Romy Landeck- 100 breast (1:14.73) and 200 breast (2:39.74); Colleen Lord- 100 back (1:09.72) and 200 back (2:29.34); and Kyle Yu- 100 breast (1:11.63).
Congratulations to Romy Landeck for picking up her first Summer Juniors cut in the 200 breast, and making her first winter Juniors cut in the 100 breast. Congratulations also to Jordan Hancock for picking up new winter Juniors in the 100 and 200 fly, just missing her Summer Juniors cut in the 200 fly by .01. Great Results for FCST on Zone, National, and International Level |
|
|
 Great Swimming on International, National, and Zone Level! FCST swimmer Kirsten Groome placed 17th at the 2008 Beijing Test Run 10K. Kirsten was one of 30 females vying for a spot at the Olympics, but she just fell short. Congratulations on a great international opportunity! We are proud of you!
FCST swam well at the 2008 Open Water Nationals! Colleen Gordon finished 2nd in this national championships in the 5K. Additionally, Eegan Groome placed 11th, Ryan Littlefield placed 14th, Christy Wolterman placed 25th, Kaitie Layne placed 26th, Greg Rice placed 28th, and Daniel Graviss placed 29th. Well done to all swimmers in their first open water national meet!
Finally, Jordan Hancock, Erin Yeager, and Kyle Yu did an outstanding job at the 2008 Southern Zone Select Camp, where they learned about the steps that it takes to make the National team and beyond. Congratulations on such a unique honor!
