Daniel and Simone selected for USA Swimming National Junior Team
Every year USA Swimming picks their National Junior Team from the 18 and under rising stars in the swimming world. From First Colony Swim Team, Daniel Graviss and Simone Manuel have qualified for the 2012-2013 team.
Daniel Graviss was selected for the 2012-2013 National Junior Team based on his top three finish at the 2012 USA Swimming 10K Open Water National Championships. Daniel qualified in the second spot for 18 and under American swimmers with a time of 1:58:41 in Fort Myers, Florida.
Simone Manuel was selected for the 2012-2013 National Junior Team based on her finishes in the 50 and 100 Freestyle. To qualify for the team athletes had to have one of the six fastest times in an Olympic event from the combined results of three meets, including Olympic Trials. It was Simone’s finishes at Olympic Trials that qualified her in the top spot in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 25.63 and 100 Freestyle with a time of 55.45.
