FCST Mile Meet a Success!
FCST Mile Meet a Success! (Revised from previous announcement)
52 FCST swimmers braved the cold and rain on a Sunday morning to compete in the annual FCST Mile Meet. In a fun and unique format, the meet consisted of 1 event (1650 freestyle), and was seeded with all ages & genders mixed for each heat. Due to the wind chill, the swimmers quickly picked up on the special starting protocol.
For many swimmers, distance events provide great opportunity to find new success in the sport, while many others use the distance events as a measuring stick for their progress and commitment. Do to logistical concerns, distance events are sometimes hard to find offered at age group meets. FCST is fortunate to have the resources and volunteer support to help make the most of these opportunities.
