Announcement Of New Coach and Training Site
Dear FCST Families:
Nine years ago, we expanded into the New Territory club pool, and this has grown into a home for over 100 FCST swimmers. Last year, after Coach Jarrod’s move to Beaumont, we added a program there and we have watched it take off. Both programs continue to flourish, and both are an integral part of our team’s success.
We are happy to announce that starting with the long course season, FCST is expanding west to the Fort Bend ISD Training Pool. We recently hired Coach Bill Sprague to run the FCST program in this area, and we are excited to watch this portion of our program strengthen our overall team.
Coach Bill comes to us from Katy Aquatics, where he developed numerous TAGS, Sectional, and Junior National athletes. At Katy Aquatics, he was the Assistant Head Coach, and in addition to his groups, Coach Bill played an important role in the day to day operations of the program. Before joining Katy Aquatics, Coach Bill coached in South Carolina and Georgia, where he developed Olympic Trial qualifiers and nationally ranked athletes.
“My philosophy is to strive, to instill in our athletes an understanding of and appreciation for such concepts as high self esteem, personal accountability, constructive self motivation, goal setting, and goal achievement as these ideas relate to their success in training and competition. It is my belief that the process of achieving is as significant as realizing the achievement itself. ‘Life is a journey, not a destination
’. At each level of my training program, athletes are guided to strive for excellence. Excellence in this sense represents the achievement of that level at which you know that you have done your utmost to become the best you are capable of becoming. This philosophy is consistent throughout my training program.” –
Bill Sprague
Be on the watch for more information, and when you see Coach Bill on deck, please be sure to welcome him to our FCST family!
