Chris Yeager competes in Jr. Pan Pacific Championships!
Veteran FCST swimmer Chris Yeager (15) recently competed in the Jr. Pan Pacific championship meet, held Aug 27-31 in Kihei, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. This is a meet held every 2-3 years, with the US, Canada, Australia, and Japan serving as the charter federations. Athletes must qualify through their own federation, and must not turn 19 before the competition. Chris qualified for this meet based on his performance from the US Open Water National Championships.
In addition to the open water competition, Chris was fortunate to have the opportunity to swim his best pool events, allowing this meet to serve as his end of the season competition. Some results for Chris include:
400 free – 22nd, dropped 2.5 seconds to finish in 4:01.33
1500 free – 14th, dropped 9.7 seconds to finish in 15:58.74
10K open water – 6th place, and 2nd overall among USA swimmers. Chris was the youngest swimmer in the field.
Congrats again to Chris for representing Team USA and FCST at this unique event!
