FCST Shows up Big at 2018 SC TAGS

 2018 Short Course TAGS Championship

March 1 - 4 , 2018 

Woodlands, Texas

The Woodlands was a very exciting place to be this past weekend where the fastest 14 and Unders from the state of Texas all came together for the 2018 Short Course Texas Age Group Championships.  First Colony Swim Team took 32 athletes to the competition this past weekend for an outstanding Team Performance.  FCST came away with an 11^th place finish with a very young group of athletes which makes the future even more exciting for seasons to come.

This truly was a huge Team Effort throughout the weekend.  We had some amazing individual performances like Parker Efird’s 2^nd place finish in the 10 and Under 50 Backstroke.   Mitchell Imrie winning the 13-14 Year Old 50 Freestyle while setting a new Team Record.  Kayla Fu winning in the 11-12 Year Old 100 Freestyle also breaking the Team Record. 

We also had some incredible relays where the 13-14 Girls 200 Medley Relay made up of Meredith Brown, Ashlyn Hembree, Abigail Nelson and Taylor Murphy crushed the Team Record.  The 13-14 Boys rewrote 4 of the 5 Team Records with Mitchell Imrie, Kevin Zhou, Hayden Bellotti and Alex Fu.  The 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay and the 400 Free Relay all fell while coming away with a 1^st place finish in the 200 Free Relay.

A huge thank you to all the fans and parents in the stands for all the support throughout the weekend.  We had Senior and Age Group swimmers that were not participating in the meet make the drive up to the Woodlands in order to support their fellow FCST Teammates which was extremely exciting. 

We also had an incredible Parent Section in the stands that brought an amazing amount of energy to every session of the long weekend.  One of my favorite moments was seeing Parker Efird walk out for his 100 Backstroke because he took his goggles off once he got to his lane to find his parents in the stands. Then found the entire FCST Parent Section waving back at him before he got in to race.  Thank you to everyone for all the continued support and excitement that you bring to all the meets.
