2018 Long Course Texas Age Group Championships

  First Colony Swim Team started off the 2018 Long Course Texas Age Group Championship with a bang on Wednesday night!  The 13-14 Boys 800 Free Relay made up of Hayden Bellotti, Alex Fu, Todd Achuff and Kevin Zhou broke the Team Record by 15 seconds while coming in 5^th overall with a time of 8:16.75. 

   On Thursday morning the First Colony Swim Team came back to the pool ready to race starting off with the 200 IM.  The meet was extremely fast but our swimmers were up for the challenge.  All the swimmers were having great swims with Personal Best Times in almost every swim.  That evening at finals the kids came in ready to rock starting with Kayla Fu breaking a TAGS Record/Team Record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:23.96.

   Throughout the weekend the kids seemed to get stronger and stronger.  They all took great job of care of themselves by warming up and warming down properly, eating and staying hydrated throughout the sessions while continuing to stand behind their TEAM.  Swimmers were asked to warm down after events by their coaches and the swimmers response was usually “can I watch my teammate in the next heat then warm down?”  The coaching staff was very proud to be a part of such a great team environment. 

   First Colony Swim Team 15^th overall, 11^th in the Men’s scores and 14^th in the Women’s scores.  Please see below some of the individual and relay accomplishments that we had throughout the meet.

   Last but not least, I would like to thank all the parents for all the support throughout the week.  Many times coaches had to communicate with parents to keep swimmers on the right path and they all did an outstanding job of supporting the coach and swimmer.
