First Colony brings home 6th place at the 2018 Gulf Age Group Championships

2018 Gulf Age Group Championship

This past December, we had 29 athletes travel to College Station, Texas to compete at the 2018 Gulf Age Group Championships.  FCST was able to finish 6^th overall, 2^nd in the Boys and 8^th in the Girls amongst all the Gulf teams at the meet.

It was a weekend to remember with spectacular races starting with the 400 IM and 500 Free on Friday evening.  FCST came into the meet ready to race with multiple new TAGS cuts being achieved along with a team record being broken.   The weekend continued with outstanding races on Saturday and Sunday as well.  FCST came in prepared every prelims session which resulted in lot of finals swims, new TAGS cuts and a few more team records falling. 

Throughout the meet Hayden Bellotti broke the team records 400 IM with a time of 4:09.53 and the 100 Fly with a time of 52.82.  The 13-14 Boys also broke the team record in the 400 Medley Relay (Bellotti, Brown, Zhou, Fu) and the 400 Free Relay (Fu, Bellotti, Lee, Zhou). 

Cheers were heard in the crowd as our fans, parents, and supporters grouped together in the stands and made for a great atmosphere and cheering squad to help our swimmers feel like it was a home meet. Please see the below list for who placed in Finals in each event with their final rank in each respected event. Congrats to everyone who competed and performed at a high level to make the hometown team a successful team.
