2019 Short Course TAGS Championship

First Colony Swim Team started off the 2019 Short Course Texas Age Group Championship with a bang on Thursday night!  The 13-14 Boys 800 Free Relay made up of Hayden Bellotti, Alex Fu, Todd Achuff and Kevin Zhou broke the Team Record by 3 seconds while coming in 2^nd overall with a time of 7:07.13. 

On Friday morning the First Colony Swim Team came back to the pool ready to race.  The session began with the 13-14 100 Butterfly where Hayden Bellotti and Alex Fu both tied with a time of 52.21 which broke Hayden Bellotti’s Team Record from earlier in the season.  That evening at finals the kids came in ready to race again with Hayden and Alex going even faster but with Hayden coming out on top with a time of 51.39 which is now the new Team Record.  A few events later Alex Fu would break the Team Record in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 58.74.  To end the evening the 13-14 Boys closed the night out with their 400 Free Relay (Alex Fu, Hayden Bellotti, Liam Lee and Kevin Zhou) by getting 1^st , breaking the Team Record and the TAGS Record with a time of 3:12.79. The meet was extremely fast but our swimmers were up for the challenge.

Throughout the weekend the kids were extremely tough by coming in ready in the mornings.  They all did a great job of taking care of themselves by warming up and warming down properly, eating and staying hydrated throughout the sessions while continuing to stand behind their teammates.  The coaching staff was very proud to be a part of such a great team environment. 

Saturday evening was another session full of amazing swims including the 10 and Under Boys (Kenny Tran, Parrie Charoenrattanaruk, Ethan Chen and Parker Efird) rocked the 200 Free Relay by coming in 7^th in the state.  The 13-14 Boys 200 Free Relay (Alex Fu, Hayden Bellotti, Liam Lee and Kevin Zhou) by getting 1^st , breaking the Team Record and the TAGS Record again with a time of 1:27.63.

First Colony Swim Team 13^th overall, 3^rd in the Men’s scores and 27^th in the Women’s scores.  Please see below some of the individual and relay accomplishments that we had throughout the meet.

Last but not least, I would like to thank all the parents for all the support throughout the week.  Many times coaches had to communicate with parents to keep swimmers on the right path and they all did an outstanding job of supporting the swimmer and coach.
