FCST Swimmers Selected to USA Southern Zone & Diversity Performance Camps

We are extremely proud to have Alex Fu and Mason Ramsower representing the FCST at the Zone Select Performance Workshop,” said FCST Head Coach, Pete Wright. “This honor reflects the hard work they put into training over the past two years and is the next step toward their life-long dream of representing the United States at international competitions.”

The goal of this workshop is motivational and is designed to develop the athlete’s leadership skills. Athletes will have the opportunity to learn from two organizations: Growing Leaders and More Brave. Both organizations have extensive experience working with student-athletes as well as providing leadership training.

The top swimmers in each Zone are selected for the workshop. Swimmers are selected automatically through USA Swimming’s SWIMS database based on 2019 and 2020 LCM combined IMX point scores. Criteria for this year’s workshop was modified due to the COVID-19 year and can be reviewed on the USA Swimming website.

“We’re thrilled to have one of our own FCST athletes participating in the Regional Diversity Performance Workshop,” said FCST Head Age Group Coach, Ben Pulskamp. “The skills they will learn from this experience is something they’ll keep with them forever. I’m excited to see how they grow in the pool, but also as a leader.”

Ellie Wang will be among the top swimmers in their respective age group. It aims to empower athletes to:

  • Demonstrate the viability of multicultural success in swimming.
  • Achieve performance excellence at every level of the sport.
  • Expound the benefits and value of participating in the sport of swimming.
  • Be positive leaders and role models that others from multicultural backgrounds can emulate.

FCST is proud of all 3 of you! GO FCST!
