A Very Bright Futures Meet for FCST!!!!

This past week, First Colony Swim Team took 9 swimmers to the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Fargo, North Dakota.  First Colony started off with a bang where Mason Ramsower dropped a huge 1500 Freestyle placing 5^th with a time of 16:14.84 which was a New Winter Junior National time.  After the distance session Andrew Lee started off the night strong with going 1:55.50 in the 200 Free getting another Winter Junior National cut.  Avery Collins followed up that performance with a monster swim in the 100 Breast placing 5^th and getting her first Summer Junior National time which qualified her to swim in this weeks USA Swimming Summer Championships. 

On the second day of competition, Kayla Fu came in hot with a 100 Freestyle of 57.35 placing 4^th and making her first Summer Junior National qualifying time.  She also is competing at the USA Swimming Summer Championships this week. 

On day three it seemed to be a party the entire night.  Andrew (placed 13^th) and Mason (placed 15^th) had great swims in the 400 Freestyle.  Kayla Fu dropped an incredible 100 Fly going 1:03.02 while in the 200 Breaststroke Avery got 4^th and Lillie Sczech got 12^th.  Both girls had big drops and Avery picked up her second Summer Junior National cut. 

On the final day, we finished up very strong with he 200 IM, the 50 Free.  Kayla had a very strong double getting 9^th in the 200 IM and the 50 Freestyle.  Andrew and Avery both dropped best times at finals in the 200 IM with Avery breaking the 13-14 Girls Team Record in the 200 IM.

Last but not least, thank you to all the parents that helped out over the week.  You took care of all the kids and coaches so well.  We couldn't do any of this without your support!

Avery Collins – 5^th in the 100 Breast, 13^th in the 400 IM, 4^th in the 200 Breast, 26^th in the 200 IM

Kayla Fu – 17^th in the 200 Free, 4^th in the 100 Free, 25^th in the 100 Fly, 9^th in the 200 IM, 9^th in the 50 Free

Lawrence Gomez – 29^th in the 100 Breast

Andrew Lee – 25^th in the 200 Free, 21^st in the 400 IM, 13^th in the 400 Free, 28^th in the 200 IM, 19^th in the 800 Free
