FCST RACES TO TOP 10 A FINISH AT USA SWIMMING’S SPEEDO WINTER JUNIOR NATIONALS
This past week a group of 9 Senior FCST swimmers competed against the very best 18&Under athletes from the Western United States in Austin, TX. The top shelf performance earned the team a 10th Place finish in the combined team scoring. It’s highest finish in the past 8 years. The scoring was led by the dynamic trio of Hayden Bellotti, Logan Brown, and Kayla Fu. The trio accounted for all of the individual points scored by the Ducks with each swimmer scoring Top 8 swims and FCST team records.
Hayden started the Top 8 A Final results with an 8th place finish in the 50FR. He continued his great performance with a huge 2nd Place finish in the 100Fly. Hayden closed out the meet with another A Final 8th place finish in the 100FR. All three swims were FCST team records and huge chunks of points. Congrats to Hayden for a ground-breaking week of swimming.

The scoring continued with Logan Brown’s impressive week of swimming. Day 1 had Logan swimming a B Final 200IM finishing 10th. Logan had a huge Friday Finals session scoring a B Final 100FLY finishing in 13th place. Logan switched gears and stepped on the gas for his second swim finishing in 3rd place in the 100BR breaking his own team record. Logan completed his week of excellence with a monster 2nd Place finish in the 200BR. Congrats to Logan for another week of outstanding Junior National swimming.

Not to be outdone by the men, Kayla Fu put together the best week of swimming in her career. Kayla swam 100% Life time best times throughout the weekend in both prelims and finals. She scorched the B Final in both the 50 and 100FR’s scoring huge points with her 9th place finishes. In addition, Kayla swam her first Junior National A Final with a 5th Place finish in the 100FLY on the way to crushing the team record. Kayla’s incredible attitude and confidence never waivered throughout the weekend.

Finally, FCST was able to record their first scoring relay of the week with a 16th Place finish in the Men’s 200FR Relay.

Tuesday 12/13 Update: Congrats to the 200Medley Relay of Danny Chen, Logan Brown, Hayden Bellotti, and Jack Boysen for breaking the Senior and Open Team Records! 1:31.05.
