A Very Merry Swim Meet: Team Christmas Tops Team Halloween in Annual FCST Intrasquad Meet

Team Christmas – 7093.5 points

Team Halloween – 6567.5 points

First Colony Swim Team kickstarted their 2023-24 Short Course season this past weekend at Don Cook Natatorium (Sept. 23-24^th) with their annual intrasquad swim meet. This year’s theme was Team Christmas versus Team Halloween, and at the end of the weekend Team Christmas was able to come out on top making it a very merry & bright opening to the season.

Swimmers on both sides came dressed up in the best outfits they could find in their decoration closets at home. Veterans and newbies came out in either spooky/silly costumes or cheerful/cheery Christmas themed outfits which made the meet energetic and spirited all weekend long.

The weekend was capped off with a coach’s relay in which each participant had to swim across 25 yards with an inflatable duck, the team’s beloved mascot. Team Christmas took the victory (coaches Jason, Susan, Lillian & Brooks) over Team Halloween (coaches Ben, Adrian, Mandy & Colin).

FCST would like to thank all the parents that came out to support the team while dressing up themselves. FCST would also like to thank our volunteers and officials for an efficient and great swim meet! The team looks forward to a new month as we head into October with more swim meet opportunities.
