FCST October Tri Meet: A Weekend of Stellar Performances

First Colony Swim team made a splash this past weekend at the highly anticipated Tri Meet against Dads Club and Sharks Swim Club, held from October 18-20th. With outstanding performances across the board, FCST emerged victorious, securing first place overall. The skills and habits built from week one were incredible to see, and the ability to get up and race is exactly what every coach was excited to see!
Day 1: Setting the Stage
The meet kicked off on Friday evening, with a spirited atmosphere as teams gathered for the opening events, the 200 IM & 50 Free. FCST swimmers showcased their skills, racking up impressive times in individual races while holding together some quite impressive turns and walls. Highlights included standout performances from our 11-12 swimmers, who set the tone for the competition with several personal bests and the attitude needed to start off the weekend. Swimmers Molly Kate Maddan, Elizabeth Zhang & Emily Fu took 1-2-3 in the 200 IM!
Day 2: Rising to the Challenge
As the meet progressed into Saturday, the competition intensified with most swimmers taking on 4 total events, some of which were new and longer/challenging events. Swimmers in Senior Elite flooded the top of each event and treated the weekend like a workout while pushing themselves to their ability. Swimmers continued to showcase their ability and were there to support one another from both seasoned veterans and emerging talents. Dads Club 15-18 boys proved a tough outing against ours but in the end FCST was able to go swim for swim and come out on top!
Day 3: The Final Push
The final day of the meet was a thrilling conclusion, filled with nail-biting races and electrifying finishes. FCST swimmers excelled in their respective events, completing up to 10 individual events by meets end. The energy and mood was still at a high despite the tiredness of the races. The boys closed out the weekend with the 500 Free and swimmers Nelson Zhang(5:27.43) & Landon Wu(5:27.52) both achieved TAGS cuts with a thrilling conclusion of the meet!

- 1st Place: First Colony Swim Team(902.5 points)
- 2nd Place: Dads Club(739.5 points)
- 3rd Place: Sharks Swim Club(218 points)
This meet not only highlighted the prowess of FCST’s swimmers but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among all teams. Coaches and parents expressed pride in the swimmers' efforts, celebrating their hard work and dedication.
Looking Ahead
With this strong showing, FCST looks forward to building on this momentum as the season progresses. Both the November Tri Meet versus TWST & FLEET for AG & up(Nov. 8-10th) and the Developmental groups(White, Red & Blue) with have a meet on Nov. 9-10th.
