FCST Takes First at November Tri Meet, Prepping for Championship Push

The First Colony Swim Team (FCST) closed out their final meet of the Fall season with a dominant performance at the November Tri Meet, held against TWST (The Woodlands Swim Team) and FLEET (Cypress-Fairbanks). With the championship season on the horizon next month, the meet served as both a critical preparation and a confidence booster for FCST swimmers, who took home the top spot overall.

1st Place – FCST(2,344 points)

2nd Place – FLEET(1,258 points)

3rd Place – TWST(1,102 points)

Strong Team Performance

FCST’s swimmers delivered impressive performances across the board, showcasing their depth and strength in both individual events and relays. A highlight of the meet was the energy and enthusiasm brought by the relay teams, who kicked off the competition in dramatic fashion on both Saturday & Sunday. The relays not only set the tone for the meet but also sparked the crowd, creating a wave of momentum that carried the team through a grueling three-day schedule. A duel between FCST & FLEET gave everyone a glimpse of what to come at AG Champs as FCST took the relay edge over FLEET just barely.

Challenging Back-to-Back Swims

The meet's demanding schedule, which included tough back-to-back swims on Friday evening, presented a unique challenge for many athletes. The 200 IM and 500 Free—two grueling events requiring both endurance and speed—tested the limits of FCST’s swimmers. But the team rose to the occasion, with many athletes posting personal bests and strong finishes. Despite the physical toll of the back-to-back swims, FCST swimmers displayed grit and resilience, reinforcing the team's competitive edge heading into the championship phase.

Personal Bests and New Qualifying Times

Across all sessions swimmers achieved personal bests throughout the weekend, a testament to the hard work put in during practice and their determination to improve. Of particular note, multiple swimmers hit new qualifying time standards at both AG Champs & Southern Senior Champs, securing their spots for upcoming championship meets. These time drops are crucial for swimmers looking to make a mark at the higher levels of competition.

Looking Ahead to Championships

With the November Tri Meet now in the rearview mirror, FCST is setting its sights on the championship season in December. As the last competition before the crucial final stretch of the season, the meet served as a perfect test for the team to assess where they stand and fine-tune their performances. The hard-earned victories and personal achievements from this meet will surely serve as confidence builders for the swimmers as they prepare for the next level of competition.

With their first-place finish at both the October Tri Meet and November Tri Meet, FCST heads into the championships on a high note, ready to compete at the highest level. The relays, strong individual performances, and qualifying swims from this weekend all point to a promising championship run ahead.

A big congratulations to all the swimmers for their hard work and outstanding performances!
