FCST Finishes 7th at Sectionals
Congratulations to the sixteen FCST senior swimmers who competed at USA Swimming Sectionals on July 31st-Aug 4th at Texas A&M. Overall the team finished 7th in the combined scoring out of 90+ teams and achieved new FCST team records ,National times, and USA Swimming Motivational times.
Daniel Graviss broke three FCST team records over the course of the five day meet. Daniel's record breaking swims came in the 15-18 200 Fly with a time of 2:08.00L and the 15-18/Open 200 Back with a time of 2:07.83L. Daniel's 200 Fly was a new USA Swimming AAAA time, while his 200 Back was a new Summer Junior National time and his 800 Free was a new US Open time. Teammates Andy Jensen and Charlie Wort each swam to new USA Swimming Motivational times as well. Andy achieved a new AAAA time in the 400 Free (4:10.86L) and a new AAA time in the 200 Fly (2:11.05L), while Charlie achieved a new AAA time in the 200 Back ( 2:17.37L). Way to go boys!
On the women's side, Simone Manuel swam to two new Short Course Junior National times with her swims in the 400 Fr (4:24.08L) and 200 IM (2:22.63L). Teammate, Shelby Fruge achieved a new USA Swimming AAA time in the 200 Fly with her time of 2:28.81L. Way to go girls!
Swimmers finishing in the TOP 8 were: Daniel Graviss (3rd - 800Fr, 5th - 400IM, 6th - 200BK), Romy Landeck (1st - 400IM, 2nd - 200Br, 4th - 200IM, 6th - 100Br), and Simone Manuel (1st - 50Fr, 3rd - 400Fr, 3rd - 200IM). Way to go FCST!
