The 1976 men’s Olympic Team met immediately after the Trials in Long Beach, Calif. Head Coach Jim “Doc” Counsilman told the team that he believed that had the chance to win every gold medal at the Olympic Games in Montreal. Congratulations to Maddie Locus (FCST and Dulles High School Class of 2011), who is a member of the NCAA Division I National Championship team, the Georgia Bulldogs. Maddie was a member of the 2nd place 200 freestyle relay, and she also competed in the 50 and 100 free. The Bulldogs won this title last weekend at the NCAA Division I Championships in Indianapolis.
Congratulations to Coach Lindsie Micko, who was recently named to the USA Swimming Zone Select Camp staff. Coach Lindsie will travel to the University of Louisville at the end of May to work with USA Swimming support staff and 56 of the Southern Zone's top 14 & Under athletes.
