Congratulations to Coach Lindsie Micko, who was recently named to the USA Swimming Zone Select Camp staff. Coach Lindsie will travel to the University of Louisville at the end of May to work with USA Swimming support staff and 56 of the Southern Zone's top 14 & Under athletes. Congratulations to Maddie Locus (FCST and Dulles High School Class of 2011), who is a member of the NCAA Division I National Championship team, the Georgia Bulldogs. Maddie was a member of the 2nd place 200 freestyle relay, and she also competed in the 50 and 100 free. The Bulldogs won this title last weekend at the NCAA Division I Championships in Indianapolis.  

  With 2 National Age Group Records, Simone Manuel led FCST at the NCSA Junior National Meet in Orlando, FL.  With over 1700 athletes, this was one of the biggest and fastest meets in the history of the NCSA Meet.  Considered a break-out meet nationally for Simone by many, she broke the National Age Group records for the 15-16 age group in the 50 Free (22.04) and 100 Free (47.73).  In addition to these 2 races, she also won the 200 Free.   With many great performances throughout the weekend, FCST moved up to 15th place at this year's Texas Age Group Championships. Leading the way with new NCSA Junior National Cuts were Darrin Asphall and Ashley Harmon. Thirteen FCST athletes spent their Spring Break competing at the 2013 NCSA Jr National Championships. A special congratulations goes to Simone Manuel, who set the National Age Group Record in the 15-16 year old girls 100 freestyle. Her winning time of 47.73 is the fastest any American 15-16 yr old female has been.   The 10 & Under Boys and 13-14 Boys had team record breaking 400 Free Relays to lead the efforts on day 2 of the Texas Age Group Championships. The 10 & Under boys relay, consisting of Bryan Pan, Jordan Dorado, Ben Greene and Eli Greene swam a time of 4:24.76 breaking the previous record of 4:25.60. The 13-14 boys relay, consisting of Barrett Roberts, Chris Yeager, Carlos Monteagudo and Darrin Asphall swam a time of 3:21.49 breaking the previous record of 3:22.33 Congratulations!
