FCST seniors had a great week of swimming in South Florida! The meet started off fast on Monday evening with the women setting the bar high with a team record in the 200 Medley relay! Members of that relay were Madison Varisco, Kari Wilkins, Alicia Finnigan, and Colleen Lord.  In combined men’s and women’s team scores, FCST came in 2nd place, while the women also claimed a 2nd place in women’s team scores.  There were many great swims over the course of the week, with numerous swimmers placing top 16!...

Congratulations to Simone Manuel for an outstanding performance at the World Championships! Simone won GOLD as a member of the 400 free relay team. She also advanced to the World Championship final in the 50m free, placing 7th with a time of 24.80. This time is the fastest of any 18 and under American female!    

  3 FCST swimmers finished in the Top 8 to lead Gulf Swimming on Day 1 of the Southern Zone Age Group Championships in Greenville, SC.   Bryanna Vasquez dropped 17 seconds in her 800 free in route to a 2nd place finish while Peyton Quattlebaum finished 5th.  On the boys side, Chris Yeager finished 2nd in the 1500 Freestyle. Preliminary races begin tomorrow morning at 9:00am with finals at 5:30pm.  

Congratulations to Simone Manuel and the FCST program! Simone won a gold medal for her preliminary performance of the US women's 4 x 100 freestyle relay at the 2013 World Championships. Simone led off the preliminary relay with a time of 54.23, the fastest time of any American female in a preliminary heat this year. Simone will return to racing action next week in the 50m freestyle.
