  Please welcome Coach Erik Andrews who joins the team in January. Coach Andrews is a Level 3 ASCA Coach. He has coached numerous Sectional and TAGS qualifiers and been a coach for 4 Zone teams, including the inaugural North American Challenge Cup for Southern California which competed against a team from Mexico and Canada. Coach Andrews was recently awarded most outstanding graduate student of the year 2012 for his Masters of Physical-Education coursework at the University of Houston. Coach Andrews will help with groups at the AC.

Behind numerous strong swims, FCST finished 2nd behind The Woodlands at the 2012 Gulf Age Group Championship Meet held at Don Cook Natatorium.   Leading the way for FCST was Chris Yeager, 14, who set 3 13-14 team records (500,1000, 1650 free) as well as qualifying for the NCSA Junior National Championships. USA Swimming has twenty-seven national committees that support the USA Swimming Board of Directors. Every year, coaches, athletes, and officials submit applications to sit on these committees. This year, FCST had FOUR members appointed to a national committee! Simone Manuel, a junior at Austin High School, was appointed to the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. The mission of this committee is to provide opportunities in swimming to the under-represented and economically disadvantaged youth in the United States.
