Every year USA Swimming recognizes athletes that have exceled in the pool and the classroom. To be chosen for the team the athletes must achieve the required time standard in a single event, be a member of USA Swimming, and have completed at least their sophmore year in high school while maintaining a 3.5 or higher grade point average.   FCST Welcomes Coach Lindsie Micko! FCST is excited to welcome Coach Lindsie Micko to the FCST family! Coach Lindsie comes to us after spending four years at Fleet where she was the head age group coach and lead gold team coach. Prior to working at Fleet, she was the head coach of the Snowfox Swim Team in South Dakota and an assistant coach at the University of New Mexico.   First Colony Swim Team’s Simone Manuel represented USA Swimming at the 2012 Jr Pan Pacific Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii from August 23-26, 2012. Manuel won four gold medals, placing first in the 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle relay, 800m freestyle relay, and 400m medley relay. Manuel’s time in the 100 free was a new Jr Pan Pac record and currently ranks her 40th in the world. She also placed 4th in the 50m free and 9th in the 200m free. Congratulations to Brett Pinfold, Kaitlyn Swinney, and Antoine Marc for competing in the 2012 USA Swimming Junior Nationals meet on Aug 13th-17th in Indiandapolis, Indiana.  The four day meet featured some of the fastest 18&Under swimmers in the nation, many of which recently competed at the USA Olympic Trials meet. FCST Senior swimmers had an excellent showing at the USA Swimming Senior Zones meet in Plantation, Florida on August 6th-12th.  The Women's team walked away with a first place finish overall narrowly edging out South Florida Aquatic Club by just 10 points!  Combined, the team finished in 5th out of 22 teams from across the southern states. The First Colony Swim Team is excited to announce the hiring of Coach Andre Smith. Coach Smith is no stranger to the area, as he has been coaching here since 1997. He started his career as the interim head coach of Alief Aquatics. He later joined FCST for 7 years, where he was the Elite Developmental Coach and assisted with the age group and senior programs. Congratulations to Darrin Asphall, Payton Neff, Arthur Yuen, and Peyton Quattlebaum for representing the GULF Zones Team at the Southern Zone Age Group Swimming Meet from July 31st - August 5th in Dallas, Texas.  Overall the GULF placed 10th at the meet. Congratulations to the sixteen FCST senior swimmers who competed at USA Swimming Sectionals on July 31st-Aug 4th at Texas A&M.  Overall the team finished 7th in the combined scoring out of 90+ teams and achieved new FCST team records ,National times, and USA Swimming Motivational times. Congratulations to FCST swimmers who competed at the Texas Age Group Swimming (TAGS) meet on July 25th-29th in Austin,Texas.  Overall the team finished in 12th place and saw FCST record breaking swims as well as several new Sectional qualifiers.
