Congratulations to Bryanna Vasquez, who was one of thirty-six swimmers chosen nationwide to participate in USA Swimming's 2014 National Diversity Select Camp! Swimmers must be between the ages of 14-16 and have at least one AAAA time. Bryanna was chosen on a combination of her best events, which again illustrates the importance of being a well rounded swimmer!  Bryanna will join thirty-five other campers at a four day camp at the Olympic Training Center in May! FCST finishes 15th at SC TAGS Meet 24 FCST athletes traveled to San Antonio for the annual short course Texas Age Group Swimming (TAGS) Championship, March 6-9, 2014. This is a meet held at the end of each short-course and long-course season, with many time standards faster than the national AAA time for each event. For qualifiers, this provides appropriate and challenging competition on a regional level. Each month, the FCST staff submit the names of the top attendance swimmers in their group. A drawing is held, and the winners receive a gift from Nike!   FCST wins SC Champs I   227 FCST age group swimmers took to the pool Feb 21-23 for the annual SC Champs 1 meet, held at the Lamar Consolidated ISD Natatorium in Rosenberg, TX. After 2 ½ days of great racing, FCST finished in first place, and over 200 points ahead of 2nd place. The FCST Coaching Staff is busy planning our 2014 Long Course Technique Bootcamp! Long course swimmers in Blue, Age Group I, Junior I, Age Group II, Junior II, Age Group III, PreSenior I, PreSenior II, and Senior II will start their long course season with a two week intensive stroke technique bootcamp! On March 27-29, 2014, the NCAA D1 Men's Swim Championship will take place at the University of Texas natatorium in Austin, Texas.  This meet is the fastest short course meet in the world, and includes numerous current and future Olympians.  Tickets to this event are about $15 per session (if you can find them), but there is an opportunity for free seats on-deck to get an up-close view of these great athletes in action.  In particular, the meet manager (Gloria Schuldt) is looking for a limited number of volunteer timers for this...
