Congratulations to Simone Manuel, who broke the American record in the 100 yard freestyle twice at the NASA Junior National Championship Cup! In prelims, Simone went a 46.83, breaking the previous American record held by Natalie Coughlin from 2011. In finals, Simone led off the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 46.75. FCST is proud to announce the hiring of Jonathan Hansen as the new part-time coach assistant for the FBISD Training Pool Site.   He is the current Head Coach of the Dulles High School Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving team. Twenty-three FCST seniors traveled to Clearwater, Florida for the innaugural NASA Junior National Championship Cup. FCST had arguably their best senior meet in history, with the team winning the girls and combined team championships. Hi FCST Parents- For those of you that don’t know me, I am the Dryland Director for First Colony Swim Team. I have been coaching for FCST since 2001, and I have recently taken this new full-time position. I will be holding a Dryland Education Parent’s Meeting on Saturday March 29th at 10:30 am at the Settler’s Park Clubhouse (3010 Settler’s Way Blvd, Sugar Land, 77479). A special congratulations go to FCST grad, Maddie Locus, who is a junior at the University of Georgia. At the NCAA Championship Meet, Maddie placed 5th in the 50 free and was a member of the 3rd place 200 free relay and 4th place 400 free relay. Maddie's contributions helped Georgia win their 2nd consecutive NCAA team championship title. Way to go Maddie!
