A Conversation With Simone Manuel by USA Swimming 2013 was an amazing year for Simone. She won gold by swimming in the preliminaries for the 400 freestyle relay at the FINA World Championships, earned the fastest 50 freestyle time (24.80) for U.S. women in 2013, and also anchored in the tiebreaking mixed 200 medley relay to help the U.S. claim victory in the Duel in the Pool competition. Congratulations to Simone Manuel, FCST senior, who was the anchor leg of Team USA's World Record Relay at the 2013 Duel in the Pool! Simone split a 23.61 short course meter 50 free, and in doing so, got her hand to the wall first for Team USA. Simone also placed 3rd in the 50 free, 4th in the 100 free, and had the fastest American split on the 4 x 100 free relay. Congratulations Simone!

FCST Takes 3rd at annual Gulf Age Group Champs! 68 age groupers made the trip up to The Woodlands for the annual Gulf Age Group Championship, December 13-15. This meet is for 14 & U swimmers who have made AG qualifying times in either short course or long course. FCST Takes 1st at Fall Champs! 212 athletes competed in the annual Fall Champs meet, December 6-8, hosted by HCAP. This meet allows many athletes to showcase their commitment to attendance and hard work since beginning the 2013-14 short course season.
